Another year of festive memories in our community.
2014 was our third year of Ganesh Festival celebrations in Barking.. Yeppy! (HATRICK!).
I must admit, its not as easy as it sounds in organizing and planning our cultural events in a foreign land.
It is only possible with all the support and selfless dedication from local residents!
QUICK RECAP of sweet memories we all had together:
* FREE INDIAN BREAKFAST ( All thanks to the local residents who volunteered to contribute tasty Idli, spicy Chutney, soft Puris, hot aloo curry & delicious Jelebi
* TALENT MELA (Stalls to showcase all local talents.)
* CULTURAL EVENING (great performances by cute little children & beautiful ladies, cultural gyan bits, friendly anchors, few councillors presence, & lucky few who won in lucky dip

A platform for local resident women and children who have their origins in a foreign country. Such residents, often, either feel isolated in a foreign land or experience a reverse cultural shock when they go on holiday to their home country, leading to social isolation in at least one side.
We are building a cultural bridge between generations and sorting an identity crisis through a self help process. This is accomplished by running short duration workshops with dance, music, drama and linguistic sessions.
A unique opportunity to build self- esteem and emotional well being.
Workshop participation opportunities are made available and made use by more than 60 local resident women and 30 children.
